I know that some people like asthma, as it relates to allergies...just wondering how many people had interest in it, and what you like about it. I myself have asthma, fairly mild, and I'd be willing to share if you guys want to tell me what it is that appeals

I have asthma as well. Quite bad actually. Usually have to use my inhaler at least once a day, and I'm on medicine for it. Have to use a nebulizer whenever I get sick XP
As for a fetish? Definitely not for me. Not that I see it as weird or anything, but whenever I see anyone having an attack, I actually start feeling tight chested and even slightly nauseous...So it kinda does the opposite for me. BUT on the otherhand....I have some awesome obs if anyone is interested. |

I'm gunna have to admit to being interested in asthma in a very major way. It's not the same as my sneezing fetish, but it's possibly more important to me. Sneezing is one of those things that turns me on immediately, whereas asthma is just really attractive and adorable. That being said, I understand that it can be a very serious disease and wouldn't wish it on anyone. This is just the way I am, and it's something I've struggled with for a while. It's embarassing.
But I've started a yahoo! group for asthma-related stories, fanfiction and observations... I'm not gunna post a link here, because I don't know if that's allowed, but if anyone happens to be interested, send me a message. -------------------- (Official SFF Pudding Connoisseur)

I'd be interested in sharing, if nothing else...like I said, I find the interest interesting

I like asthma too.
Was very ashamed about it and have started feeling quite better about it only just....a few days ago when I actually did join nninfer's yahoo group (thanks again for creating it). As nnifer has said, it is not like my sneezing fetish that turns me on right away,... I just find it ...so inexplicably cute and adorable but at the same time it terrorizes me for the severity of this illness and I would never ever want someone to have it. It's all in my mind and there it remains. I love reading stories about it and doing my mental films about someone that I like having asthma and playing stories in my head. .... err sorry for the rambling -------------------- Missy loves him ♥

I have had some very scary experiences with asthma, I don't have it myself but I have had several friends and a coworker with severe asthma and there have been times where someone would have a severe attack in front of me and once an ambulence had to be called, and considering my intense phobia of them and hospitals that wasn't fun, so I don't enjoy it. I do see how it could be enjoyable in relation to our fetish, and sorry for being semi off topic, just thought I'd give my input

It's something I know that I and a few others from the forum who have joined my group have struggled with, becuase it's obviously not nearly as harmless as sneezing. However, like Missy said, it's inexplicably cute. The complete helplessness of it, I guess. I've found it attractive as long as I can remember. -------------------- (Official SFF Pudding Connoisseur)

I had an interest when I was little and used to write stories as a kid about other children with asthma. I don't think it was a fetish thing, but I definitely enjoyed the weakness aspect. After watching my friend have a bad asthma attack in seventh grade though, that particular like was thrown off for me. Now I really don't care for it.

I too have always had something of a fascination with asthma. I wouldn't call it a fetish- not like the sneezing anyway, which invokes an actual physical reaction- but the helplessness it represents is just so... endearing. Like the others have said, I know it's a very serious condition and I'd never wish it on anyone, and I know that if I actually saw anyone in real life have an asthma attack, I'd be far too worried and frightened to get any sort of enjoyment out of it at all. But I do love when it's found in the safe realm of fiction and it does tend to pop up in my fantasies from time to time...

I'm in a weird place about asthma where, yeah, it tweaks a BIG h/c button for me but at the same time it skirts the edge of real fear. I had a long-time boyfriend in high school (we almost got engaged) with really bad asthma, and I think that's where my mixed feelings come from. When I read about or see or hear about someone wheezing and gasping I hear my boyfriend's sounds in my head, and it takes me back to how I felt watching him go through that.
At the same time I can't deny the fascination, the draw I feel toward it. Like you guys said, part of that helplessness thing, a little bit of caretaking, and also the duality of suffering and relief that it has in common with sneezing. Although I prefer 'discomfort' to suffering... a line that - when crossed - makes me go all squirmy... warring with the two different halves of myself. Yeah, I also find it sort of cute and attractive (especially when it's portrayed on TV or in stories), which makes me feel weird...glad I'm not alone on this! I agree that it's less of a fetish like sneezing and more of a vulnerability thing...I've never actually seen anyone have an attack in real life, perhaps that would change my feelings about it. Can I search a keyword on yahoo to find your group, nnifer? I can't receive messages here yet, haven't been made an official member...

I'm definitely a fan. It ties into my whole H/C fetish, I think. I like coughing already, so mild asthma symptoms are totally attractive to me. Coughing, mild wheezing, the sight of a heaving chest....yes please! I, too, realize it can be a very serious and scary condition, but when it's mild and not particularly taxing, I really like it.
