I recently had this idea to write an Office fic in first person POV, as if I were a new intern or temp or something. And the point was going to be that, at first, I was being partly trained by Pam and she had a cold/allergies or something. But then I thought that, if I were to be realistic, I wouldn't really be trained only by Pam, but by a member/members of each department. And that maybe there could be something going around the office that caused overt sneeziness (for our enjoyment ). So essentially what I'm wondering is, if I were to make this into an open thread, would any of you guys add on? We would all basically be the same narrator, or the same type (1st person, sorta vague) but your job as a fic writer would be to travel to whichever department your favorite sneezer works in, get trained by/hang out with them, and keep the sneeziness going!

Anyone interested? Like I said, I would be starting out as Pam, but any Pam lovers can surely take their interpretation of how that encounter would go and add on to mine!

I just think that this fic would work much better as a collaborative effort, as the Office has so many different personalities and each writer on here has a unique style and voice. It'll make for a much more interesting and less monochromatic fic than if I were to just write as everybody.

So lemme know what you think, fellow fic writers! This could be lots of fun.

This certainly is a unique idea. While I'm not sure if I will be participating, do you mean that it would be similar to the open thread Glee RP? Except with The Office, of course.

This is a fantastic idea. I've just started watching The Office two weeks ago (and I only have one more season left until I've seen the whole series so far!) and I'd be stoked to participate. I hope I can do the characters justice.

It would be very similar to the Glee roleplay, which seems to have worked out quite nicely! Like I said, if you guys wanna join in, but aren't comfortable sticking with the first person POV, go right ahead and switch it up. I don't wanna be restrictive, as that can be really sucky when trying to write something that inspires you. I also don't wanna tell you guys what to do, rather have this be sort of run by everyone involved. All I ask is that we stick to a sort of similar storyline, and we'll produce some really...interesting work .
