This is sort of half complaint, but I think it's overall a good thing in the end so I'm posting it here. So I've been frustrated out of my mind shopping for a new laptop for months because I really want something new before my current one dies so I'll have a backup. I guess the price of electronics has been going up since I last bought one, so I can't really get the same level of functionality(which would be an upgrade from what I currently have but on par with the same functionality that I had when I first bought my current laptop) for the same, or slightly higher, budget that I had planned on. So not only was I finding that I'd have to spend a few hundred more than I was originally planning on, but I'd also have to sacrifice some features I wanted, just because they're phasing certain things out with most newer models, and if I did insist on getting something with those other features, I'd be sacrificing other things that are a higher priority. So yeah, it's just a crummy feeling having to spend a lot more than you wanted to in order to not even be fully happy with what you're buying.

But onto the good part of post. I had mostly been trying to shop at Best Buy because I've been a long time customer and I really like their "Geek Squad" service, but I've just been disappointed with their selection lately. So yesterday I stopped in at Staples which had a much much smaller selection as I'd expected, but much to my surprise, they had more options that better fit the specs I was looking for. It seems like Best Buy is starting to specialize in higher end laptops focusing a lot on these new 2 in 1's which I have no use for, and Staples has some better options for decent mid-range laptops which is more what I need. I'm still having to sacrifice some of the things that I wanted, but with their current sale, I'm probably going to be spending less than I would at Best Buy.

I think I've pretty much settled on the model I want, and I'm going to try to go back there today to pick it up. So even though I'm spending more than I wanted to without getting the bare minimum of everything I originally wanted, it feels like a huge weight has been lifted off of me that I've finally made a decision about this and am going to follow through on it. And as a plus, I'll be able to get financing to pay this thing off over a long period of time interest free which feels better than paying it all in a lump sum.

----------------

TL:DR

I finally picked out a new laptop after months of shopping and it's a relief that it's finally over and I can't wait to go to the store to pick it up later today.

I heard she had a double mastectomy right before and wanted to go on the show as a new “lease on life” activity. ❤️

My horse was in great and playful mood today, and I'm finally breaking through my writer's block a bit.

I really needed something to go my way now, because man, life is rough.

Another day like this, please.

It’s 11:15pm and I just got done with my homework. I had a 45 minute talk with my older brother about growing up. I felt so close to him for the first time in my life and it’s made me cry happy tears so many times tonight. I never thought this day would’ve come. I know we’ll have more bumps down the road and especially right before he moves out. But it’s insane to think in a year I’m going to be the only one at home.

Now I’m quietly playing Keep Holding On on my ukulele, understanding now that happiness should be put over school priorities. Sometimes it’s okay to slack on an assignment or two, take a deep breath, and relax. I have school tomorrow and I should be asleep but tomorrow’s another day.

Thank you God for nights like these.

I found some Youtube videos with chakra healing with tibetan singing bowls. Silly, I thought, then accidentally clicked on one of the videos. Which focused on balancing the root chakra. At the first resonance, it felt like my body heaved a deep sigh and mumbled "oh thank you...!", which was an unexpected reaction, so I got curious and listened to the whole thing and oh man, it felt so good. I don't know why - but I assume it was because my root chakra needed some C-notes.

That sounds awesome. I'd love to try it myself if you're willing to give me the link. Either here or PM is fine.

Sure! ^_^ I'm partial to the big bowl with the deeper sound, but I know some prefer the smaller with the higher notes. Either way, for some reason my body very much wanted this.

Thanks! I don't think I had quite the same reaction you did to the video, but it was very soothing.

This is such a simple thing but I'm so grateful I woke up when my alarm went off and not two hours beforehand with racing thoughts. Really going to try and make today a good one.

I really really really like having warm feet from wearing big soft fluffy warm socks.  It just feels SO good.  It's a sort of pointless happy thing but I need some pointless happy things right about now.

Oh man, the brexit chaos... I'm, like, 90% sure there won't be a brexit at all in the end and that this whole drama was unnecessary. However, the rest of us would like to thank youkay for stirring this up, because now nobody else wants to leave. :yay:

My cat is grooming her paw while asleep. GAH, this is the cutest thing I've seen today...!
